The All-Important Bar! 🍸🍾
Planning drink quantities for a large event—especially your first time planning a wedding—can be tricky. We’re often asked, “How much should I buy?” Over the years, we’ve tracked what works best from our experience producing weddings, and here’s what we’ve learned.
Reception Drinks
On a hot summer’s day (fingers crossed!), it’s essential to serve your guests a refreshing glass of something cold. Whether it’s your favourite cocktail, a glass of sparkling wine, or a typically British Pimms, we’ll make sure everyone’s thirst is quenched and glasses are kept full. Its good to estimate your guests will have around 2-3 drinks per person during this time.
Aperol Spritz has been a big hit this summer—a vibrant and refreshing alternative to fizz that your guests will love.
Wine with Your Wedding Meal
Wine choices can be tailored to your menu, and we’re always happy to recommend pairings. Typically, red wine is less popular at weddings, with white and rosĂ© being the go-to options (or both!). We think a good call would be a minimum of 1/2 bottle of wine per person!
The Toast
Some couples choose to toast with whatever is already on the tables, while others prefer to serve a fresh glass of fizz—perhaps a lovely local sparkling wine. Either way, we’ll help you find what feels right for your day.
Cocktail Hour
Between your meal and the evening party, why not plan a fun “His & Hers” cocktail hour? Champagne towers have also been a big trend in 2024—they look FAB in photos! Check out our Insta for real wedding inspiration and some amazing shots of these in action.
Evening Drinks
In the evening, whether you’re offering an unlimited bar or just a couple of cocktails, your guests will be having a blast. On average, people enjoy about one drink every 30 minutes—something to keep in mind for stock planning!
As the sun sets, the dancefloor fills, and the party kicks off, there’s nothing better than seeing everyone enjoying themselves with a drink in hand.
